Growing an excellent marriage does not happen by chance. It takes time and loving attention. In our fast-paced and very demanding world, we can sometimes take for granted that which is most important to us.

At Centerpointe, we encourage every couple to take active steps to enrich their marriage. And why not have fun while you are doing it?

Partnering with North Point Community Church, we are making available to you a series of date night adventures. Every month or so we will release a new marriage enrichment themed adventure for you and your spouse. All you have to do is set a date on your calendar, download the adventure guide, and go enjoy sharing and having fun together.

These adventures are for couples of all ages and it doesn’t matter if you have been married 5 or 50 years. We think you will have fun while doing something that will enrich your communication and commitment to one another.

Great Marriage – Date #1: FinishTogether

Try hard, fail, try hard, fail, try harder, fail again – and give up. Sounds like the pattern of most New Year’s resolutions doesn’t it? Unfortunately, it’s also the pattern of the majority of Christians who believe that “trying really hard to follow the rules” will make them spiritually mature.

Despite this confused, performance-driven perspective, there is a pathway to authentic discipleship where people can start (or re-start) the journey in the right direction as clearly laid out in Romans 12.

The early followers of Jesus took the world by storm because they clearly understood what it meant to be “all in” followers of Jesus – they were r12 Christians.

Beginning Sunday, January 22, Pastor Mike will launch a new sermon series, “r12: Dare to Become More Like Jesus” During this 6-week series, the whole Centerpointe family is invited to join in reading the “Living on the Edge” daily devotional book. Small groups are encouraged to explore together using the r12 study guide. And if you aren’t yet in a small group, there are two Jump Start groups forming that will give you the opportunity to make new friends as you seek to grow as a Christ-follower.

Child Care Provider for EQUIP Classes

Impact: Facilitate the development of parents’ faith by caring for their infants, toddlers, and/or preschoolers during monthly EQUIP classes.

Description: Care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers during monthly EQUIP classes. Care includes giving kids lunch (provided by the parents) and playing with children indoors and/or outdoors. Classes are scheduled once a month from 12-2pm.

Gifting/Experience:No special experience required, just a love for young children.

Time Commitment: 2 hours a month.

Centerpointe Kid’s Sunday School Leader, 3-5 year old class (10:30am program)

Impact: Share your love for Jesus with preschoolers and Kindergartners, building in them a foundation of faith through providing curriculum and fun activities twice a month in Sunday School.

Description: The Centerpointe Kid’s leader is responsible for building relationships with the kids and their families and for planning and executing lessons and activites in Sunday School using the curriculum provided. The Sunday School leaders work in teams of 2-3 people and share in leading the lessons and activities. Each team is scheduled on the 1st and 3rd Sundays or the 2nd and 4th Sundays, and sharing responsibilities on 5th Sundays.

Gifting/Experience: A heart for preschoolers and Kindergartners and a passion for sharing God with children.

Time Commitment: 6-9 hours a month.

Administrative Assistant for Pastor Mike

Impact: Assist Pastor Mike to thrive and flourish by handling specific projects on an as-needed basis.

Description: Pastor Mike currently works without the benefit of administrative support. This role will be filled by a person who loves handling different projects, has strong relational skills, and is eager to make a difference in our overall ministry through their efforts. Work will include follow-up on a variety of ministry initiatives, relating to other ministry leaders, providing administrative help in the form of preparing documents, PowerPoint slides and more on an as-needed basis, and completing one-time tasks.

Gifting/Experience: Ability to work in a self-directed manner. Sensitive to the needs of others. Computer skills required.

Time Commitment: 2-5 hours per week. Some of the work can be done at home if you have a computer available.
